CARING FOR VETERAN MENTAL WELLNESS
In 2021, Bob Evans Farms launched ‘Making a Difference, Bite by Bite,’ a program designed to support valuable services for active-duty servicemen and women, as well as our nation’s Veterans.
This year, we’re partnering with the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization dedicated to seeing that our heroic members of the military receive the post-traumatic care they need, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
Since 9/11, nearly one in three U.S. service members deployed suffer from traumatic brain injuries, an eye-opening statistic and one that compelled us to act. Through our partnership and financial contributions, we intend to help combat the epidemic of “invisible wounds” that the brave members of our military deal with on a daily basis.
We’ve donated $75,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation to help support our military heroes. To show your support for the brave men and women of our military who go through so much to keep us safe and free, look for these Bob Evans and Owens products with the Gary Sinise Foundation logo on them.
Founded in 2011 by actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise, the Gary Sinise Foundation addresses the epidemic of invisible wounds that afflict our nation’s Veterans and first responders. Gary, who has stood as an advocate for America’s Veterans for nearly 40 years, formed an enduring connection with service members throughout the military community after his portrayal of wounded Vietnam Veteran Lt. Dan Taylor in the movie Forrest Gump. He has lent his powerful voice to a number of public service announcements, and has been interviewed by leading media outlets such as Fox Business, MSNBC and Yahoo Finance, just to name a few.Donate
