Ingredients

  • 5 Large buttery croissants torn into 2-inch pieces and toasted
  • 22 Ounces Bob Evans Macaroni & Cheese
  • 1½ Cups diced cooked ham
  • 1½ Cups shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 Cup shredded fontina cheese
  • ½ Cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 Tablespoons sliced chives
  • 8 Large eggs
  • 2 Cups whole milk
  • 1 Cup heavy cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ Teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ Teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ Teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Layer half the croissants in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Top with half the macaroni & cheese, ham, cheeses, thyme, and chives. Repeat layers.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, Dijon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour mixture evenly over casserole.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. Let casserole stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
  8. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until puffed and set.
  9. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
