  • 1 Pound penne pasta
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Cup onion finely chopped
  • 4 Cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Package Bob Evans Original Roll Pork Sausage
  • 16 Ounces tomato sauce
  • 14.5 Ounces canned diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 Teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
  • Salt & cracked black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 Cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh basil leaves chopped for serving (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese grated for serving


  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium. Sauté the onions and garlic until soft, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add sausage roll; cook and crumble the sausage until no longer pink.
  4. Add in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and hot red pepper flakes; mix to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and butter; stir to combine.
  6. Add the drained pasta into the sauce and toss to combine. Bring the sauce and pasta to a boil, stirring to coat the pasta with sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and parmesan cheese (optional).
