Sausage Wonton Cups

Ingredients

  • 32 Ounces Owens Hot Pork Sausage
  • 1 Cup diced red bell pepper
  • 8 Ounces cream cheese softened
  • 8 Ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 Ounces diced green chiles
  • 1 Ounce taco seasoning mix
  • 24 Wonton wrappers
  • ½ Cup sour cream
  • 3 Green onions sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage and bell pepper in a large skillet over medium heat until sausage is browned and crumbly; drain, and return to skillet.
  2. Add cream cheese, stirring until blended.
  3. Stir in shredded cheese, green chiles, and seasoning mix until blended. Remove from heat, and let cool 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400°F. Line wells of a (24-cup) miniature muffin pan with wonton wrappers. Spoon about 1 Tbsp sausage mixture into each wrapper.
  5. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until wontons are golden brown and filling is hot and bubbly.
  6. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Top with sour cream and green onions before serving.

Note: Filling may be made up to 3 days ahead and refrigerated. Spoon filling into wonton wrappers just before baking.
